Usain Bolt, aka the fastest man of all time, has jetted over to Australia to chase his another sporting dream - to become a professional football player.
As you’d expect his arrival Down Under sparked huge excitement at Sydney airport on Saturday as fans went nuts for the eight-time Olympic champion, who holds the records in both the 100m and 200m.
The Jamaican icon, who hung up his running shoes last summer, is now bidding to electrify the footballing sphere as he joins A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners - albeit on a training contract - a side that finished rock-bottom last season.
Bolt’s first training session is scheduled for Tuesday - his 32nd birthday - and should he impress then a professional football contract could well be on the cards ahead of the new season which explodes into action in late October.
It’s worth noting that Bolt has previously spent time training with the likes of Borussia Dortmund, South African club Sundowns and Norway's Stromsgodset, to no avail, but he hopes this time around it will be different, telling the eagerly awaiting press in attendance:
"I want to play football and get my opportunity. I'm going to show my best, as always.
"I always put my best foot forward and I'm just going to show the world what I'm made of.
"I know what I'm capable of, I know what I can do, so I have a big opportunity to show I'm good enough. I'm happy to call Australia home."
