Sports fans and gamers are counting down the days until FIFA 23 is released and with just a week to go until the latest instalment is available to those lucky enough to have pre-ordered it, we've decided to take a closer look at the top ten players with the highest potential in Career Mode this season.

10. Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund) - 84 (91 potential)

The classy England midfielder has been all the talk recently following another positive Champions League display against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and it seems EA have been taking as much notice at how extraordinary the 19-year-old is, not just with his actual rating, but his potential too.

9. Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus) - 84 (91 potential)

The Serbian striker took the world by storm as he continuously scored goals for Fiorentina in the first half of 2021-22, before sealing a move to the Old Lady in January. He has scored some stunning goals so far for Juve and EA believe there is more to come.

8. Kai Havertz (Chelsea) - 84 (91 potential)

Perhaps a surprise inclusion given his tepid performances since moving to Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea’s German attacker has shown glimpses of his quality at times, either for the Blues or back when he was a Bayer Leverkusen talent, and EA have grouped him in with the game’s superstar elite in FIFA 23.

7. Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) - 82 (91 potential)

Like Havertz before him, this German star looks set to be the next star forged at Bayer Leverkusen. He has had a great start to life since emerging in the Bundesliga and it is safe to say that we can all agree that EA were right to put him on this list.

6. Gianluigi Donnarumma (Paris Saint-Germain) - 88 (92 potential)

The Euro 2020 champion always has you thinking he is going to be older than he is, but he is filled with six years worth of experience in senior football at just 23. He is already regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers in the world and he still has years in front of him to enhance his powers.

5. Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid) - 86 (92 potential)

The Brazilian winger has established himself as one of the best in the world for his position and he is the man that won Los Blancos their latest Champions League title in the summer.

4. Phil Foden (Manchester City) - 85 (92 potential)

The ceiling for the young Englishman continues to rise with each passing season and so does his potential on FIFA. Given how dynamic the game is with regards to altering player positions you can play Foden centrally or on the wing as he has been used for club and country.

3. Pedri (FC Barcelona) - 85 (93 potential)

The exciting young Spanish midfielder has had his praises sung by just about every manager and pundit in the game. With his incredible abilities, his inclusion so high on this list is more than justified.

2. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - 88 (94 potential)

If you were to guess where Haaland would be on this list, you would have instantly assumed in the top three, at least. The Norwegian superstar has adapted well to his new surroundings in the Premier League and there is no question that the 22-year-old is already frightening and he is nowhere near the height of his powers.

1. Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) - 91 (96 potential)

Like Haaland, you would also feature the young Frenchman in the same bracket given as they are the frontrunners to replace and exceed the accomplishments of both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. As the cover star though, it is fair to assume his role as brand ambassador might have impacted his position at the top of this list.
