Games worth a wager are thin on the ground this evening so we’ll be stretching into the early morning of tomorrow for a fancy, and it comes across the Atlantic at Toronto FC’s BDO field.
The Canadian side scooped the MLS cup in 2017 and remain one of the better sides in the division, despite the fact that they sit second from the foot of the Eastern Conference, and have the best player in the division in the form of the diminutive Italian Sebastian Giovinco.
They're without their DP tonight though after they received a straight red for violent conduct in last week's loss to New England.
They host fourth-placed Orlando City, a free-scoring outfit themselves, tonight and there should be a few notches on the scoresheet with two capable attacking sides with leaky rearguards meeting.
Both teams to score is a skinny 1/2 and while this should cop quick, we’d like to beef that price up a bit before taking an interest.
Toronto are a different side at home than on the road, which wouldn’t be too hard to achieve given how putrid they are on their travels, and they’re fancied to notch a win in a high-scoring affair here.
Tosaint Ricketts provides the foil for Giovinco’s ingenuity and they’re a different side when they have his space making pace. They'll miss the Italian but Ricketts and his legs can plug a gap in the attacking sphere. They can out-point the Floridians here if he makes the lineup as expected.
Toronto to win with over 3.5 goals is one way about going about this. 12/5 is a fair price about the envisaged goal-filled game with the Canadians coming out on top.
Some transatlantic excitement can launch us into the weekend with a spring in our step.
