The fans of Zenit St-Petersburg put on one hell of a show as they welcomed their team bus towards the stadium in spectacular fashion ahead of Thursday night's Europa League clash with Fenerbahce,

Trailing 1-0 after losing the first leg of the last-32 tie 1-0 in Turkey last week, Zenit fans ensured the players knew they were right behind them with a sensational welcome that was caught on camera by an overhead drone.

Fans lined the sides of the street as the Zenit team bus slowly moved towards the stadium. One by one, fans let off flares to create a remarkable fireball that has to be watched to appreciate its fully glory - you can see the video in full by watching the video at the end of this article.

There were firecrackers and tribal chanting to add to a quite superb atmosphere.

The welcome seemed to do the trick too as the Zenit players duly produced the goods on the pitch, winning 3-1 on the night thanks to a goal from Magomed Ozdov and a brace from Sardar Azmoun to ensure the Russian side progressed to the round-of-sixteen with a 3-2 aggregate victory.

Zenit fans have been known to attract media attention for wrong reasons with their behaviour in the past but this show to welcome their team will live long in the memory.

Is this the most intimidating/terrifying welcome in world football? The Zenit fans have certainly stepped up the welcome party to ensure that Anfield, Celtic Park, the Camp Nou and co. have plenty to live up to!
