Forget Making A Big Money Transfer, Liverpool Might Already Have Their Next Young Superstar At The Club

The demand for the next big money transfer signing is constant at football clubs these days with fans on social media desperate for their team to make a splash when the window opens.

Attention is already turning to the summer with the season starting to draw to a close and that does mean the endless speculation about new players going in and out is set to start in the newspapers and on social channels.

Liverpool are a fascinating club when it comes to adding to their squad over the next few months with Jurgen Klopp overseeing a massive improvement at Anfield since his arrival. The Reds have made a big splash in the market of late with Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson turning the famous team from top four contenders to title challengers and what they decide to do next in terms of recruitment is likely to be crucial.

Two major needs were identified and two big names in the Brazilian goalkeeper and Van Dijk were signed but that philosophy isn't always going to work and there is a player in the club already that could be set to make a big splash at some point over the next year.

Rhian Brewster is something of a forgotten starlet of English football having been on the sidelines for 15 months with an injury but the young striker is now back on the pitch and looking ready to make that breakthrough. The 18-year-old returned from his lay-off to score a brace in a friendly at Melwood on Friday, including a lovely curling effort from outside the box, to remind football fans of just how good he is.

This is a young player who has lit up the youth game at International level with his Golden Boot from the U17 World Cup the highlight so far with his eight goals in the tournament crucial to England coming away with the trophy.

Liverpool managed to persuade Rhian Brewster to commit his long-term future to the club in the wake of that success at youth level and the next six months feel crucial in his development at Anfield.

The Liverpool fans will be hoping that next season will be the time that Brewster can make the breakthrough into the first team squad with another body in that area likely to be important going into the future. Daniel Sturridge only has a contract at the club until the end of this season and with Divock Origi failing to secure a regular place in the team, Klopp could be looking to reinforce his options at the top end of the pitch.

Come on down Rhian Brewster.

The famed Liverpool front-three of Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane remain one of the best in the world when they are firing but there have been patches this season when more quality off the bench would have benefited the team in those areas.

There is no denying the Brewster has an eye for goal as his record suggests and with fitness now on his side, the powers that be an Anfield might decide now is the time to look inwards, rather than outwards this summer when it comes to transfers.
