Forget Mo Salah, Harry Kane And Sergio Aguero, This England Striker Is A Genuine Contender To Win Premier League Golden Boot

When it comes to the race for the Premier League golden boot we are used to hearing the same old names in contention for the coveted price.

Mo Salah, Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero are unsurprisingly the trio of superstars at the head of the betting this season but there can often be a dark horse further down the list that makes a giant leap forward to gatecrash the party.

A host of names have been mentioned this season including Alexandre Lacazette of Arsenal and Anthony Martial of Man United but there is a player lurking even further down that is a ridiculous price with the bookmakers,

Callum Wilson of Bournemouth is playing the football of his life at the moment for a team which plays free flowing attacking football which means he is going to continue to impress.

The former Coventry man has flourished under Eddie Howe of late as he has returned from two serious injuries to make his debut, and score, for England in the recent friendly against the USA.

As it stands, Wilson is only two goals behind Sergio Aguero in the top scorers list with six goals to his name but it is also worth noting that the Cherries striker has also picked up four assists this term.

This is a player who can be backed at around 50/1 to be the top scorer in the league and although it is hard to see him coming out on top come May given the quality of the players above him, it is easy to see the 26-year-old bagging north of 20 goals in the league which would put him in and around the mix.

We know that Wilson will be a first choice for Eddie Howe whenever he is fit which and given that he also has Ryan Fraser and Josh King alongside him to supply the ammunition, don;t be surprised if we see the England man continue to flourish.
