The aftermath of Liverpool’s enthralling 3-2 victory over PSG has been dominated by Mo Salah’s celebration-turned-bottle-throw.
Footage of the Egyptian hurling his bottle after Roberto Firmino’s late goal quickly went viral, only for clips to then emerge of him celebrating beforehand.
It’s caused quite the debate on social media, however if Liverpool supporters are after some footage of the match that simply can’t be disputed, then they will take immense joy from this clip of fan favourite James Milner.
Just when you thought Reds supporters couldn’t love the midfielder anymore, he goes and completely wipes out PSG star Neymar, and it’s just as good as it sounds.
The 13 second video, posted by Twitter user @ScottCGroom, shows PSG defender Juan Bernat dart down the left flank, before passing the ball onto Neymar who is positioned on the touchline just inside of Liverpool’s half.
The Brazilian then moves forward, attempts a step-over, but is instantly met by the brick wall that is Milner, who makes the tackle fairly but firmly, and in the process sends his opponent flying with Neymar left shell-shocked on the deck, much to the delight of Liverpool fans.
There is no doubting that Milner has been stupendous since switching Manchester for Merseyside back in 2015, but while Liverpool’s rip-roaring attacking trio often grab the headlines, he consistently proves just why he is one of the club’s most valuable assets.
And nailing Neymar will only elevate his status in many people's eyes!
