News broke this morning that Claude Puel had been sacked by Leicester City following their woeful 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Premier League last night.
With the Foxes now in the market for a new manager, it was announced by the bookmakers that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was the overwhelming favourite to take over the reins at the King Power Stadium.
Rodgers has English top-flight experience with Swansea City and Liverpool and has been linked with a switch back to the Premier League over the last 12 months, but currently dominating the Scottish football scene with Celtic, Rodgers has opted to stay north of the border.
However, with the Leicester City vacancy certain to turn his head then Rodgers could well be chomping at the bit to leave Celtic and aim to bring back the good times to Leicester, who only a few years ago were lifting the Premier League trophy.
Speaking ahead of today's Scottish football, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton had his say on whether Rodgers would leave Celtic for the Leicester job, and Sutton was confident that Rodgers would switch his allegiances, should he be offered the Leicester job.
When asked whether Rodgers would leave, Sutton said: "I can see it happening. I just wonder whether Brendan feels like he has taken Celtic as far as he feels they can go. I feel European football has been an issue, I think Brendan said last week that he feels Celtic have found their level, it's a very, very attractive job the Leicester job," added Sutton.
Concluding his opinion on the matter Sutton said, "All things being equal, I think Brendan will be off."
"Leicester is a very, very attractive job. I think Brendan will be OFF!" 👋
