Former Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho Hints At Next Move In Management

Next step France?
Next step France?

Jose Mourinho recently revealed that he would be returning to football for the first time since suffering the sack at Manchester United last year.

But, instead of taking up another seat in the managerial arena, the Portuguese coach was unveiled as the new host of his own football show on Russian TV.

However, Mourinho has now dropped a huge hint at his potential next movement in management.

Mourinho has previously enjoyed success in his native Portugal, along with England, Spain, and Italy, accumulating a combined 25 pieces of silverware, including two Champions League trophies and eight league titles.

The 56-year-old, who has declined an offer from Benfica, now looks to be targeting the French top-flight, Ligue 1.

"I can imagine myself as a coach in Ligue 1," Mourinho told beIN SPORTS in quotes via Sky Sports.

"I am a man who has worked in four different countries. I like to know other cultures. Working in a new championship would be a fantastic experience.

"For now I'm calm, I try to live better with my family and friends and I work calmly to hope for the opportunity to go back to football.

"I think two to three months, January, February and March, (without a job) is OK [but] afterwards it is harder.

"I hope calmly to have the opportunity to come back stronger.

"The project is my project as a person and as a coach, to improve, to be better, to think every day about my profession, which is also my passion - it is not just my profession. But now is not the time to speak with clubs.

"I prefer to watch other clubs and other leagues. ([In England) I know all the players, I know all the clubs - I know the philosophy. For me, it is more interesting to watch the other leagues."

Mourinho was pictured at Lille’s Ligue 1 goalless draw against Montpellier on Sunday alongside Lille sporting director Luis Campos.

It’s probably unlikely that Mourinho would take charge of either of those clubs but given his latest comments he’s inevitably going to be linked with French giants PSG (8/1) who last week inflicted a first defeat upon Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, while Monaco are also available at the same price.
