What a night for Tottenham Hotspur as they prepare to begin life in their new stadium.

After months of delays and doubts about whether they’d even play there this season, tonight Mauricio Pochettino’s men will stride out in front of a full house for the game against Crystal Palace.

Spurs had been at White Hart Lane for more than 115 years and the club has taken special care to make sure the essences of their old home lives on at the new venue.

Here’s a look at the new stadium in numbers…


  • No cash will be accepted for any purchase made within the new stadium
  • No plastic straws, stirrers or cutlery will be used at the stadium
  • There’s no cheese room at the stadium - despite what you may have read in the past


  • The stadium has a multi-faith contemplation room in the North West Corner of the stadium
  • Childrens snack boxes include one pack of Match Attax cards
  • All season ticket holders and members received a bag for life to discourage use of plastic bags at the stadium
  • The Tottenham Experience is the largest retail space of any football club in Europe
  • The new stadium has its own microbrewery 


  • The new stadium will open on matchdays two hours before kick-off and stay open two hours after the final whistle in some areas to encourage fans to eat and drink in the venue


  • The new stadium has four giant HD screens inside the stadium
