Liverpool have handed young midfielder Harvey Elliott a new five-year contract until 2027.
The 19-year-old joined the club from Fulham in 2019 and has so far made 22 first team appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side and been involved in three goals for the Reds. He also spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship to gain some valuable experience. During his spell with Rovers he scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in 42 appearances which earned him a place in the Reds’ first team last year.
Speaking of his delight at his new contract, Elliott told the club website: “It’s always nice to know that I’m going to be here for many more years, which is always a great thing with it being my boyhood club and there is nothing in this world that makes me more happy and more excited than this.”

Elliott’s rise into the first team picture suffered a huge blow last season when in September he suffered a dislocated ankle following a challenge from Leeds United’s Pascal Struijk which ruled him out for four months.
He made his return to action in the FA Cup in February in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Championship side Cardiff City at Anfield. He came off the bench and scored to wrap up the victory. He also featured in the Carabao Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley, scoring in the penalty shootout. Elliott was handed his England Under-21s debut by Lee Carsley in March.
