A quiet weekend of sport has been lit up by the Star Sixes this weekend with some legends of days gone by strutting their stuff in Glasgow.

Robert Pires is one of the stars of the show for the rest of the world team and there is no doubt that the French star has still go it in the locker. The former Arsenal legend was known for his flair and quality during his playing days and it appears as if he has still got it even in retirement.

The 45-year-old received the ball with only the keeper to beat against Northern Ireland before proceeding to embarrass Maik Taylor in stunning circumstance. The French magician feinted to shoot before dragging it back and passing the ball into an empty net.

Taylor, a top class goalkeeper during his career, was left sat down and looking a little sheepish and as you would expect, social media exploded with Arsenal fans rushing to swoon over their former idol.

Can Arsenal re-sign Robert Pires his absolutely running the show - (@BenAndrews_1)

Pires was a class act throughout his career and he certainly hasn't lost any of his technique if this goal is anything to go by, a joy to watch for any football fan!
