''He Only Coaches His Team In Attacking'' - Salty Former Manchester United Manager Slams Guardiola And Backs Liverpool In Title Race

Louis Van Gaal has launched an astonishing attack on Pep Guardiola and said he is backing Liverpool to win the Premier League.

Man United fans won't be too happy to be waking up to this bizarre interview from their former manager with the Dutchman hitting the headlines for some comments given to the Mirror.

Man City and Liverpool are embroiled in a famous Premier League title race at the moment but there is no doubting who Van Gaal fancies to lift the title, and he has been typically forthright in his opinions.

Klopp has turned Liverpool into an absolute fighting machine – both attacking and defending. So, if I was to put my money on one club for the league, it would be Liverpool.

OK Louis, well at least we know where your money is going in the title race but that wasn't the end of the interview with the former Ajax manager turning his attention to Pep Guardiola and his Man City squad. The Citizens have been receiving almost constant plaudits over the past 18 months for their football but Van Gaal clearly isn't as impressed as everyone else is with the Etihad gaffer.

In fact, the highest quality players are at City. But, at the same time, that is the weakness in Guardiola. He only coaches his teams in an attacking way. Always

The Dutchman is known for his strong opinions on the game and he clearly isn't calming down in his retirement if these quotes is anything to go by. Man United fans won't be too happy to see their former manager praising Liverpool in the title race but Van Gaal clearly doesn't care and it will be fascinating to see if his prediction turns out to be true.

Not sure if Pep Guardiola will be sending him a Christmas card!
