''He's A Proper Doughnut'' - James DeGale And The Eubanks Clash Over Bizarre George Groves Broadcasting Argument

Is it really a boxing match if the two fighters don't trade petty insults before the big night? Probably not.

Thankfully Chris Eubank Jr and James DeGale lived up to expectations by arguing in their final press conference ahead of their IBO super middleweight championship clash.

The pair are set to do battle at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday night and there were bizarre scenes as George Groves was reportedly removed from commentary duties but then reinstated following Thursday's press conference.

The Telegraph had reported that Groves had been taken off the television commentary duties for the fight because one of DeGale or Eubank Jr didn't want him there.

It was something that both fighters vigorously denied when they were asked which of them didn't want Groves commentating and it descended into an argument...

It isn't me, it's probably this pu&sy, Chris," said DeGale. "Never I wouldn't do that, I'm not that kind of man, you know me.

I want him on the thing, he's a proper doughnut but let him have his time, I don't care.

De Gale has history with Groves after Groves won a controversial split decision when they fought in 2011.

Chris Eubank Jr also had his say. "I have no problem with George being on the broadcasting list. If he isn't there it's probably because this man [DeGale] doesn't want him there."

Eubank Jr was beaten by Groves in February 2018 when Groves on a points decision despite dislocating a shoulder.

Chris Eubank Senior also piped in:

As I know it isn't us, it must be someone from your camp, from you side.

The argument escalated from that point onwards and you can see the full exchange of views in the video below. Things are warming up nicely for Saturday night.
