Footballer often plan their celebrations these days with many star names coming up with fancy dances or handshakes to celebrate with their teammates. However, Eduard Bello of Chilean side C.D Antofagasta took things a step further by scoring a goal, and running to the stands to propose to his girlfriend.

The 23-year-old bagged in the opening stages of the game before grabbing a ring from a member of staff on the bench and sprinting into the stands. He quickly spotted his girlfriend before racing into the stands and getting down on one knee.

His girlfriend appeared to be thrilled with the proposal, quickly saying yes and kissing her future husband before the two shared an embrace. They shared another kiss before Bello had to quickly return to the pitch so the game could restart. The referee, Francisco Gilabert, did not show any heart as Bello was given a yellow card for his ‘excessive celebration’ when he returned to the pitch.

It was unfortunately not a completely happy ending for Bello and his Antofagasta side as despite grabbing himself a brace, his side were beaten 3-2 by Everton in the Chilean Premier League. That result leaves Antofagasta in fourth position whilst Everton are battling relegation in 14th position and will be delighted with those three points.

We have seen some cracking celebrations already this season with Kennedy Bakircioglu downing a beer after scoring for Hammarby in Sweden. This one may surpass that celebration in the romance stakes but Kennedy definitely wins some lad points for his effort.
