Horse Racing Tips Friday 25 May 2018: Dermot Weld Sends Nice Sort Out In Opening Race At Leopardstown Tonight
An evening card on the turf at Leopardstown is on offer for racing fans across the water this evening, in place of the all-weather cards at Dundalk that they’ve had all winter, and there are some decent sorts on show at the South Dublin venue. Aidan O’Brien’s staying sensation Order Of St George, who makes his seasonal return in the listed Levmoss Stakes at 19:25.
In the opening race on the card, a maiden over 7f, a couple of sons of the late sire Scat Daddy top the betting. Cape of Good Hope goes for Ballydoyle and shades favouritism ahead of the once-raced Ger Lyons inmate California Daddy.
Those two will be hard beat but there’s one that makes some each-way appeal to follow them home.
Andaleep goes for Dermot Weld on what’ll be his second start. His debut at Dundalk was more impressive than his finishing position (4/5) would suggest, he was trailing behind the Coventry Stakes favourite Sergei Prokofiev over an insufficient trip and did ok given the circumstances.
Jumping up two furlongs today against a mainly unraced field, he can put his experience to good use and make his trip down the N11 worth his while.
A morning price is 16/1 is a generous one and we’ll get onboard with Andaleep while it remains that big. Taking the price at a B.O.G firm could prove worthwhile as the price could drift if one or both of the two Scat Daddys are backed as the day goes on.
