The 2022 World Series heads to Citizens Bank Park on Monday night with the Houston Astros and the Philadelphia Phillies all square at one game apiece. The Phillies haven't lost on home territory this postseason, so will be confident of stamping their authority on the series over the next three games. But after two wonderful games in Houston, there feels like plenty more to come from the Fall Classic yet.
So what else is in store, what are the odds and how can you watch it? Here's everything you need to know...
GAME 1 - Phillies 6, Astros 5 (10 innings)
Kyle Tucker blasted the Astros into a big lead inside the first three innings with two big home runs. After his solo shot in the second, he sent another one yard with two on at 2-0 in the third. But that five-run lead didn't last for long, with Alec Bohm driving in two in a three-run fourth inning to bring the Phillies back within two. JT Realmuto then slapped a two-run double off Justin Verlander in the fifth to tie the scores and ratchet up the pressure.
Only a diving catch by Nick Castellanos kept the game alive in the ninth. With Jose Altuve on second and two out, Jeremy Pena looked set to win the game for the Astros as the ball dropped towards the ground in right field. But Castellanos - known to be a poor fielder - stretched out to collect the ball and deny the American League champions. Realmuto's 10th-inning lead-off homer then completed an epic comeback from the Phighting Phills.
GAME 2 - Phillies 2, Astros 5
The Astros came out firing, with doubles from Jose Altuve, Jeremy Pena and Yordan Alvarez off the first four pitches of the first inning helping to give them an early 3-0 lead. Alex Bregman's two-run shot in the fifth inning gave them a five-run edge for the second straight night but they were not about to lose it again. Having pulled one back in the seventh on a sacrifice fly, it twice looked as though the Phillies had made it 5-3 in the eighth.
Kyle Schwarber's monster blast flew just the wrong side of the foul pole in right, then on the very next pitch the lefty slugger saw another huge effort come up just short as Kyle Tucker pulled it in on the warning track. They did grab one more in the ninth, but Framber Valdez's 6.1-inning, one-run pitching performance was not about to be wasted by the home team.
