Liverpool have been a handed a major boost with the news that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could make a quicker than expected recovery from injury.
The former Arsenal star suffered an ACL injury during the Champions League semi-final against Roma last season and had been expected to miss the entirety of this campaign, but the midfielder himself has raised hopes that he could return sooner.
The 25-year-old was a key component of the Liverpool squad under Jurgen Klopp last season having arrived from Arsenal and his absence has been felt over the last few months with his ability to create and score from midfield badly missed.
Chamberlain though appears in positive mood in a video released by the club this evening and Liverpool fans will be hoping that he can return before the end of the season and be as good as ever.
The former Southampton player is clearly doing his rehab in the right way and when asked about a potential return date, he was bullish about his chances of playing again this term.
I'd love to be able to make an appearance at least before the end of the season, depending on what we are doing.
The news will serve as a big boost for Jurgen Klopp who will surely want his Liverpool squad to be at full strength for the last few months of the season with the Anfield club expected to be fighting on a number of fronts.
It has been an excellent start to the campaign with the Reds currently unbeaten in the Premier League and the return of Chamberlain would be the perfect tonic in their push for trophies.
