Dusan Tadic produced a stunning moment of brilliant individual skill to help set up a second goal for Ajax against Real Madrid tonight.
The goal gave Ajax a 2-0 lead on the night - 3-2 on aggregate - and gave the Dutch side hope of pulling off one of the Champions League's greatest ever upsets.
Tadic will be well known to Premier League fans for his time at Southampton but the Saints fans may be struggling to recall such a sublime piece of skill during his time at St Mary's.
He brilliantly took control of the ball, leaving the Real Madrid defence flat-footed and threaded through a pass to David Neres and he was able to steer it past Thibaut Courtois for a quite sensational finish. Stunning stuff!
Ajax performed so well in the first leg in Amsterdam and were unlucky not to get anything from the tie but they travelled to the current European Champions confident of an upset.
Real Madrid - who are without the influential defender Sergio Ramos through suspension - responded to going 2-0 down by bringing on Gareth Bale in place of Lucas Vazquez. Staggeringly, it's four years since Real were knocked out of the Champions League.
Earlier in the day, Ajax sought to inspire their players by releasing a promotional video showing the journeys of some of their stars from youth teams to playing on the biggest stage in European football. Might this mini masterpiece yet do the trick? We will soon find out...
