Introducing Split Decision, the new boxing podcast from The Sportsman. Every week, host Seb Parkinson and The Sportsman boxing writer Joey Mills will break down the burning topics surrounding the sweet science. There will be fight previews, the latest news straight from the mouths of boxing’s biggest names, and the odd familiar face popping in.

On our debut edition, you can hear us put questions to Kell Brook and Amir Khan ahead of their upcoming blockbuster. ‘Special’ K addresses the possibility of a fight with Floyd Mayweather, while ‘King Khan’ details the strategy he thinks can bring about Brook’s downfall. Seb also pushes Joey into a prediction ahead of the British super-fight.

The boys also cast their eye over a stacked February of action, touching upon Chris Eubank Jr vs Liam Williams and Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall. There’s a fun look at Audley Harrison’s Twitter account. The Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medalist has been causing controversy and amusement in equal measure with a series of candid tweets, and the Split Decision delves into some of his interesting claims.

Anthony Joshua’s rumoured £15 million ‘step aside’ offer to allow a Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk undisputed title fight forms the core of this week’s debate. Seb and Joey debate whether such a move makes sense for ‘AJ’ at this point in his career, as well as addressing the wider implications for the heavyweight division going forward.

Split Decision is available on Spotify, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic and Stitcher.
