Celtic's 5-1 annihilation of Kilmarnock yesterday put severe pressure on Rangers to perform on Sunday afternoon, but Steven Gerrard's men fluffed their lines against 10-man Dundee and having only drawn 1-1 at Dens Park it gifted Brendan Rodgers' Celtic a two-point advantage at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Gerrard launched a tirade of disappointment at his players after the Gers could only pick up a point, but their failure to win has had huge ramifications on the latest betting for the top-flight title north of the border.
While Celtic were red-hot favourites to retain the crown before the weekend they have been cut dramatically by the bookmakers after Rangers slipped up and Rodgers' men have gone from 1/6 shots with some bookmakers to almost certain 1/12 chances to reign again.
Rangers were as short as 7/2 with some firms before a ball was kicked this weekend, while some were a bit more generous offering 11/2 about the blue side of Glasgow bagging the title, but following on from their draw this afternoon they are now as big as 8/1 to topple Celtic and it has left many wondering whether the title race is well and truly over.
Kilmarnock are also huge movers this weekend as having been flying high at the top of table before yesterday's defeat to Celtic and priced up at 60/1 chances to cause a shock, they are now as big as 200/1, while Hearts are available at the same price in betting market that has an even more one-sided look to it on Sunday evening.
