Jose Mourinho has put himself in the shop window for the Real Madrid job after he enthused about the European giants while guesting as a pundit on BeIn Sports.

Sacked by Manchester United in December, Mourinho has been linked with a string of managerial vacancies but remains out of work.

In the last few weeks, Mourinho has been appearing as a pundit alongside Richard Keys and Andy Gray on BeIn Sports and his comments about a range of issues have ruffled a few feathers.

However, his latest comments suggest he is primed for Real Madrid to try and bring him back to Spain for a second stint in charge of the club. Current Real boss Santiago Solari has failed to impress since taking on the top job permanently and many have suggested he won't keep his job beyond the end of the season.

Mourinho - along with Arsene Wenger - is the most high profile manager without a job at present though the former Arsenal boss is understood to be considering several offers.

When asked if he would return to a club where he has been before, Mourinho replied: "To a club that I have been before? If I think the right club, the right structure, the right ambitions, I will have no problem at all.

“I think it’s really a reason of pride when a club where you worked before wanting you back. They are the iconic club, I think so you know 13 Champions Leagues.

"Real Madrid made something extraordinary in Europe in the last five years is absolutely incredible.

“If you want to look at my time we are speaking for about seven years, seven semi-finals. Five years, four finals and four victories it’s absolutely amazing.”
