Jose Mourinho Gives Huge Update On David De Gea’s Manchester United Future After World Class Save

David de Gea has now kept back-to-back clean sheets at Manchester United for the first time this season after his side left it late to beat Young Boys, 1-0, and subsequently stamp their place in the Champions League knockout stages for the second successive season.

The Spaniard’s shutout followed the clean sheet his registered against Crystal Palace in the Premier League last weekend, and while a blunted United were unconvincing from an attacking perspective in both matches, on a personal note the Spaniard will be quietly satisfied.

The shot-stopper, who has not escaped criticism from some quarters this season, pulled off a simply stunning save against Young Boys, as he somehow denied Ulisses Garcia’s deflected effort in the 70th minute when the game was goalless.

The keeper’s superhuman reflexes are arguably the best in the game, and how on earth he was able to rapidly claw away the deflected shot, only he will know. - check it out for yourself in the video below.

After the game Jose Mourinho was quick to shower the game-saving keeper in praise, while he also issued a huge update on De Gea’s future at The Theatre Of Dreams.

“He is a world-class goalkeeper, probably the best in the world, and that’s exactly what you need if you want to be a big club that wins things.

“I know he is happy here, I know he wants to stay, and I know the board are working to make that happen.”

De Gea’s future has been up in the air, with reports surfacing last week that a move to Juventus was on the cards, whereas PSG are also believed to be keen.

His current contract expires in the summer, although United have the option of invoking another year. But while the club have so far failed to nail their star man down to a new deal, Mourinho’s latest comments will go down well with the United faithful.
