Joseph O'Brien To Saddle Last-Time Winner At Dundalk

The 19:30 Fastfix Handicap at Dundalk will be raced over 6 furlongs and it they won’t be hanging around the start in Louth.

Anthony McCann’s Togoville is a free-going sort and ran well when finishing second over 7 furlongs at the course last time. He’s drawn seven but in this field he shouldn’t be too inconvenienced by that. Pat Smullen should be able to get him out in front and he’ll surely set a strong pace for the rest of us to aim at.

Master Speaker is one who should make a good effort at hauling him in up the straight following his fine win over course and distance last time. A 6lb rise is very fair indeed but it’s another one of the field of eight that we want to side with this evening.

Joseph O’Brien picked out a nice race for Art Nouvelle at Lingfield last time and his charge did the business in taking fashion under Adam Kirby. He’s back on the other side of the Irish sea tonight and will be five pounds higher in the handicap.

He’s unexposed, though, especially on artificial surfaces and he should be able to get involved at a slightly more generous price than either of his two better-fancied market rivals.

He’s an 11/2 shot at the time of writing but might drift out to slightly more than that nearer the off as the favourite is backed in. Those of you wanting to get involved should do so with a firm offering best odds guaranteed.

We’ll take a point each-way on him in the hopes he can run well under lights at the County Louth venue.
