Julen Lopetegui To Be Sacked After Barcelona Debacle: Former Arsenal and Chelsea Men In The Frame To Become Next Real Madrid Manager
The reign of Julen Lopetegui as Real Madrid has been nothing short of a disaster and the former Spain manager is set to be removed from his role.
Los Blancos were atrocious as they lost 5-1 against Barcelona in El Clasico this afternoon and it is expected to be the end of Lopetegui's spell in Madrid. Rumours have been rife about his future for some time now and this will be the final straw with the fans clearly unhappy.
The Champions League winners have failed to replace Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo who both sensationally quit the club during the summer, but who exactly is going to become the next coach to try his luck at one of the biggest clubs in the world?
The former Chelsea man is at the head of the next Real Madrid Manager betting and the favourite to take the role with his contract issues from his time in the Premier League now behind him. The former Juventus coach has won plenty of of trophies as a player and a manager which fits the bill but he does favour a disciplined defensive approach which may not go down too well with the famously difficult to please Real fans.
Solari was a popular player during his time at Real Madrid and plenty have suggested that he could be the man to take over the hot seat, at least for the time being. The 42-year-old would be an easy hire as the current B team manager and there is no doubt that he knows the club inside out which would make the transition comfortable.
The negative with Solari is that he isn't the big name that the fans normally desire, especially if they are looking to attract the best players in the world next summer. Do they need a galactico manager?
Now this would be a remarkable appointment...
Wenger is currently out of work following the end of his long association with arsenal and there is no doubt that the Frenchman has flirted with taking the job at the Bernabeu in the past. Respected worldwide, Wenger could be the calming voice needed in a changing room of massive egos, although his record at the Emirates during the latter half of his reign would be a slight worry.
Julen Lopetegui is almost certainly is on his way thanks to a stunning Luis Suarez hat-trick, but who will be slipping into his role?
