Juventus Linked With Sensational Swap Bid For Manchester United Star But Barcelona Could Scupper The Deal

The transfer saga involving Paul Pogba and his future at Manchester United took a new twist on Sunday as reports in the Italian media are suggesting Juventus could be ready to launch a sensational swap deal involving Paulo Dybala.

Pogba has done little to quash the stories that he could leave Old Trafford and his interview with Sky Sports Deutschland has set the rumour mill whirring once more.

"My future is currently in Manchester," said Pogba.

"I still have a contract, I'm playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the near future."

Following that interview, Calciomercato are reporting that Juventus are ready to offer Dybala as part of a swap deal as they bid to bring Pogba back to Turin after selling the French midfielder to United for £89m in August 2016.

The 25-year-old has endured a topsy-turvy two years with United and his performances since winning the World Cup with France have left plenty to be desired, despite the fact he has scored two goals for United in the league this season.

Worryingly, Pogba's attitude during games has been questionable and he has committed a league-high ten fouls, while he has been dispossessed on 14 occasions during a lacklustre start to a new campaign which also saw him have a penalty saved in the win against Burnley.

Many Manchester United fans are growing tired of Pogba's histrionics and Dybala may be seen as an ideal addition to the Red Devils squad. The Argentine has fallen down the pecking order at Juventus after the Bianconeri signed Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this summer, although there is no doubting the talent of the 24-year-old.

Dybala has scored 52 goals in his last three seasons in Serie A, but he has found himself on the Juventus bench in recent weeks. Juventus boss Massimo Allegri started Dybala against Chievo on the opening weekend of the season but he didn't come off the bench against Lazio and played only ten minutes of the win over Parma.

The forward is unlikely to settle for a place on the periphery and he could be tempted by a move away, although Calciomercato have suggested that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain are all keen on Dybala.

Dybala and Pogba could actually go head-to-head on 23rd October as Manchester United take on Juventus in a Champions League clash that sees former United star Cristiano Ronaldo make his return as an opposition player to Old Trafford.
