Krzysztof Piatek Proves Why Chelsea Should Have Bought Him Over Gonzalo Higuain

AC Milan are delighted with their new signing Krzysztof Piatek after he hit two goals on his debut which sunk Napoli at the San Siro. Piatek kept up his incredible run of goalscoring form this season following his move from Genoa to Milan for £31.5m and this has left many Chelsea fans feeling like they may have made an error bringing Higuain to Stamford Bridge.

The Polish forward has now hit a remarkable eight goals in just three Coppa Italia games this season making him the competitions top scorer. He is also challenging Fabio Quagliarella and Cristiano Ronaldo for the Golden Boot in Serie A, currently four and three goals behind the pair respectively.

Now Gonzalo Higuain may turn out to be a corking signing for Chelsea, it is simply too early to tell, but Chelsea fans were less than pleased to see Higuain’s replacement at Milan bag a brace on his debut.

‘Reckon Chelsea made a mistake not buying Piatek’ @Mark_The_O

‘Chelsea signed the wrong striker’ @Yungstano

‘Chelsea should have legit gone for Piatek rather than Higuain’ @Akwasi_

At just 23-years-old, Piatek is certainly some way off his peak and has plenty of time to improve. Playing regularly in a top side will certainly aid his development and his next move away from Milan could be a massive one, if he keeps up this goalscoring form.

Higuain at 32-years-old is approaching the end of his career but Chelsea will be hoping they can get some goals out of him thanks to his massive experience in the top leagues. It may have been too early to make a final verdict but Piatek may well turn out to be a much smarter signing for AC Milan than Gonzalo Higuain is for Chelsea.
