Leeds United Fans React To Crushing Marcelo Bielsa Picture After Damaging Loss Against QPR

Leeds fans have been left disappointed as their side blew the chance to go back to the top of the Championship last night with a 1-0 loss to Steve McClaren’s QPR. Despite the loss, many Leeds fans were trying to stay upbeat, with the club only two points off league leaders Norwich and second-placed Sheffield United, who have been on a fine run of form.

The picture of the night, which you can see below, came after the full-time as Bielsa took a minute to reflect on his sides’ defeat. Captured by Yorkshire Evening Post Photographer Bruce Rollinson, this really is one of the defining sporting pictures of the year so far.

Bielsa will need to inspire his team to bounce back as they do not have time to waste, taking on West Brom on Friday night in a crunch game that could make or break their promotion hopes. The Baggies are just four points behind Leeds, lying in fourth place and this game could throw them back into the automatic promotion race.

Leeds fans had mixed reactions to the QPR result and the Bielsa picture.

‘This is what Leeds does to you Marcelo. You have only had 7 months - we have had a lifetime. It’s not healthy pal.’ @jmunroe2001

‘Hurts Bielsa as much as it does the fans. It’s the players who seemed to not care tonight’ @eatonc01

‘Unfair comment mate! Those players have been playing out of there skin all season.’ @Ted84623829

‘He was happy with a squad of 15 players, but heaven knows he’s miserable now’ @mrwayneg

‘This is why Leeds fans love Marcelo Bielsa. It's not just a job to him. He is hurt when Leeds lose.’ @vegansmithsfan

‘Every Leeds fan is behind the man whatever happens. We re group and go again Friday’ @LouisReynolds_1

‘We desperately want it for him as much as for us. We genuinely want him to have success somewhere & best of all with us.’ @WotzThatSound

‘That's the saddest thing I think I've ever seen’ @LUFCWilsonn
