The waters at Leeds United have been unusually calm so far this season with the team on the pitch looking settled and ready for a genuine promotion charge but as is the norm at Elland Road, there could well be another bump ahead.
The news emerging this week that Eleven Sports, run by Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani, is on the verge of collapse in the UK is not the Christmas present the fans in Yorkshire wanted to receive.
The club have been going great guns under Marcelo Bielsa so far this term with the Championship table currently making for excellent reading for a team which is desperate to return to the Premier League promised land.
As it stands, Leeds are sitting pretty just one point behind Norwich at the top of the table but there does have to be some worry about the club from a financial point of view.
Reports have emerged today that the club is confident of keeping clear of the money worries encountered by the struggling Eleven Sports but there is a clear cross over given the involvement of Radrizzani.
Eleven Sports were hoping their streaming service would be able to muscle in on the likes of BT Sport and Sky Sports but according to stories this week, they have attracted just 50,000 subscribers to the new venture.
La Liga and Serie A rights have not been enough to attract the demand needed to keep the business going and initial joy at nabbing the UFC rights for 2019 has been short-lived after they failed to find a broadcast partner in time, which means BT Sport have taken advantage of a loophole in the contract to snaffle the cage fighting back.
Leeds fans will rightly be watching the situation closely over the coming days and weeks with Radrizzani clearly set to take a major financial hit but the big question remains, what impact will it have on the Elland Road club?
