Liverpool And Tottenham Suffer Major Transfer Blow As Chelsea ''Win Battle'' For Dortmund Superstar

Chelsea appear to have won the race to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund according to reports to today.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Chelsea "look to have won the battle" to sign the American superstar and that a deal in January is on the cards for one of the hottest properties in world football.

A host of Premier League clubs have been chasing the winger, including Liverpool and Tottenham, but it now appears as if the Stamford Bridge club have jumped to the head of the queue as they look to secure a big money deal in January.

Liverpool have constantly been linked with the 20-year-old given the Jurgen Klopp and Dortmund links but those stories now appear to be wide of the mark. The report today is suggesting that Chelsea are eager to tie up a deal as soon as they can thanks to a possible incoming transfer ban due to the recruitment of under age players which adds another layer to the story.

No fee is mentioned at this stage although there have been suggestions that a fee of £70m would be enough to prize Pulisic away from the Bundesliga.

Dortmund could potentially be prepared to let the American leave following the emergence of Jadon Sancho this season and with his contract only running until 2020, his value will decrease if they keep hold of one of their star wingers any longer.

The potential signing of a player like Pulisic would be a major boost for a Chelsea squad which has made an excellent start to the Premier League season under Sarri.
