It’s been a great few days in the life of Rio Ferdinand.
A couple of days ago he announced his engagement to former TOWIE star Kate Wright. Then on Saturday his former side Man Utd overcame Bournemouth, and later on that day he had some fun after a Liverpool supporter asked him to pose for a photograph.
The comical incident occurred in the build-up to Liverpool’s clash against Arsenal at the Emirates.
In a tweet posted by Red supporter Joe Jaggar, he revealed:
"Just called Rio Ferdinand over and said is he ok for a quick photo with the little man.
"Passed him my phone and said it’s one tap on the middle button. So glad hatred in football still exists at certain levels."
While Ferdinand had obliged and taken a picture of the supporter and his son, he also left a cheeky surprise of his own - a selfie of himself with his finger up! (scroll down for picture) - and the tweet has since amassed a stonking 33k likes and 6.4k retweets
The former Red Devils defender who went on to watch Liverpool and Arsenal play out a competitive 1-1 draw, and he would even shower the Reds defence in praise:
“In terms of speed on the ground in the Premier League this season, Gomez and Van Dijk, they’re [two] of the top five pacesetters.
“This game today, you need pace to survive and these two have got it in abundance. This is a mouthwatering back four.”
