Roberto Firmino missed a Liverpool training session today and Reds fans couldn't believe it.
The Brazilian was not spotted at an open training session ahead of Liverpool's Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich. Some have suggested he has a virus and he would be a huge miss for Jurgen Klopp's men if he doesn't recover in time.
He already has 11 goals to his name this season and has been talked about as one of the players Bayern Munich fear most ahead of the two-legged tie. Firmino scored in the Champions League group stage games against both Paris Saint-Germain and Red Star Belgrade and some of his best performances have come in this competition.
Liverpool are already missing several players for the tie which could see some significant changes. Although normally a midfielder, Fabinho is expected to play in defence to cover for the suspended Virgil van Dijk suspended. There are also concerns over Dejan Lovren - also a no-show at the training session - while Joe Gomez remains sidelined with a broken leg.
When asked about his potential selection, Klopp told the club's website: “I don’t know 100 per cent. It’s Monday and we play on Tuesday so most of that should be clear. Gini trained and looked really well. Shaq did a lot, so it will be close, we have to see.
“Dejan, I actually have to wait minute by minute if there is a chance or not. But that’s pretty much all, I would say.”
Panicky Liverpool fans took to Twitter to express their fear that the Brazilian star could be missing for such a big game.
