Liverpool Fans Rejoice - Reds To Gazump Manchester United With Bid For Alberto Moreno Replacement
Liverpool are enjoying their best ever start to a Premier League season as their 20-match unbeaten run ensures they are seven points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, so it seems safe to assume that Jurgen Klopp will be happy with the squad he has at his disposal.
It seems unlikely that the Reds will be too busy during this January transfer window as they have collected 54 points so far, although they have been linked with one potential transfer as they eye a replacement for the much-maligned Alberto Moreno.
Moreno remains a far from unconvincing understudy for the outstanding left-back Andrew Robertson, who has been a revelation since breaking into the Liverpool first team, and Klopp could be forgiven for wanting to add a bit of competition for the full-back position.
According to the Daily Mail (via Teamtalk), Liverpool are preparing a bid for Bristol City's highly-rated Lloyd Kelly, who has attracted interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham in recent months.
Kelly has caught the eye with a string of impressive performances at Ashton Gate this term, with the left-back earning a regular spot in the England Under-21 set-up. Kelly remains a work in progress defensively but he is a real threat going forward.
The 20-year-old is very much a player for the future and Championship side Bristol City face a real battle to keep hold of one of their most prized assets.
Liverpool could be ready to listen to offers for some of their fringe players, including Moreno, who has been linked with a move to Marseille and former club Sevilla during this January transfer window.
It's fair to say Liverpool fans wouldn't be unhappy to see him depart Anfield...
