Liverpool Or Man City? Manchester United Legend Eric Cantona Responds In Comical Fashion

Manchester United are in a nightmare scenario as two of their fierce rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City, battle it out for Premier League glory.

However, the Red Devils can play a huge part in the eventual destination of the title as they face both clubs before the season comes to a close.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, unbeaten in nine top-flight games, is currently preparing for the crunch clash against Liverpool tomorrow, while United host City in the rearranged Derby duel on April 24.

United legends are frequently being asked which of their rivals they’d rather see lift the title, the latest of which is Eric Cantona, who has replied in typical Cantona fashion during an interview with Paddy Power.

“Nobody, no answer.

“It’s like if you ask me if I prefer to have my teeth on wood or my legs in spounge.”

So there you have it, classic Eric. Although he did reveal his top-4 prediction:

“Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham, and United.”

Cantona does of course have more Premier League titles to his name than Man City and Liverpool combined, having amassed four gongs between 1993 and 1997, while he also famously scored the winner in the FA Cup Final showdown against Liverpool back in 1996, a competition he won twice.

The Frenchman did, however, go on to praise United’s rivals, while he thinks that Solskjaer's men aren’t completely out of the title race just yet

“City and Liverpool play nice attacking football, they score lots of goals, which is like Man United. Winning, scoring goals, creativity, they have the philosophy we did - enjoyment.

"Of course, if they [United] keep playing like this, they still have a chance, no? [Of winning the league] ‘I remember during my time, we were 12 points behind Newcastle and we won the league – so we have to hope and dream.’”
