Crystal Palace appear to be the favourites to land Liverpool's off-radar striker Dominic Solanke.
With the Reds riding high at the top of the Premier League, Solanke finds his chances of first team football at Anfield restricted and Palace are in desperate need of some attacking inspiration.
Jurgen Klopp has made it clear he doesn't want to sell the 21-year-old who has impressed at youth level for England but he does accept that a move will not do the player any harm.
Reports today suggest the player is undergoing a medical with the Eagles with a view to finalising a move when the transfer window re-opens next week.
Signed from Chelsea in 2017, Solanke has not made a first team appearance this season.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson is a big admirer of the player and is well-placed to win the race for his services despite interest from several clubs including Huddersfield Town, Brighton and Hove Albion, Bournemouth and Rangers. Solanke's family are based in Reading so a move to a London club seems the most likely of all those options.
Solanke has played 28 times for the Reds but has only scored one goal which was on the final day of the 2017/18 season against Brighton.
Palace are struggling at the wrong end of the table and today were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at Selhurst Park. They were in the game for long periods but struggled to create clear chances which is where Solanke may be a possible solution for Hodgson.
