Mo Salah is already the proud owner of the most goals scored in a 38-game Premier League season, a remarkable record he set in his first season at Liverpool after bagging an astonishing 32 top-flight goals.
That haul meant Salah eclipsed the now former record held by Alan Shearer - alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez - and now he’s on the cusp of snatching another of the legendary striker’s goalscoring feats.
The Egyptian King has added another 17 top-flight goals this season - no player has more to his name - which has propelled his tally to a very impressive 49 Premier League goals for the Merseyside club.
This means Salah can hit the magic mark of 50 league goals against none other than Liverpool’s fierce rivals Manchester United, when the teams face off on Sunday at Old Trafford.
Should the sharpshooter find the back of the net this weekend - for the first time ever against Man Utd - he will create a new slice of history as he’ll hit the 50 goal milestone for a single Premier League club faster than any other player - just 63 games.
As touched upon, it’s Shearer who holds the record at the moment, with the ex-striker reaching that tally in just 66 games for Blackburn. Ruud Van Nistelrooy is next best, grabbing 50 Man Utd league goals in 68 matches, while it took Fernando Torres 72 Liverpool games.
Salah is also bidding to become the eighth player to win two Golden Boots in the Premier League era, and the sixth player to win the award twice in a row, after Alan Shearer, Michael Owen, Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie, and Harry Kane.
