Liverpool Target Bundesliga Hotshot As Jurgen Klopp Starts Scouting Mission
Liverpool are eyeing up a striker to bring competition to Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge as they head into the crunch part of the season, chasing that elusive Premier League title.
Jurgen Klopp has turned his attention once again to the league he knows best, the Bundesliga, in the hunt for bargains. Liverpool scouts have been to watch top scorer Luka Jovic this season, a man who had already bagged nine goals this season at an incredible rate of one every 62 minutes.
That puts him ahead of Robert Lewandowski and Marco Reus as the league’s best goalscorers and he is performing out of his skin for an Eintracht Frankfurt side who are remarkably in the top four. Frankfurt are the second top scorers in the league having bagged 26 goals already this campaign and it is their impressive goal difference which is keeping them above the struggling German giants, Bayern Munich.
The Serbian international has, unsurprisingly, drawn interest from all around Europe, including from Barcelona who sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old play for his country over the international break.
Fredi Bobic, a board member at the club said recently: "Our grandstand has been full of scouts from the absolute top clubs for weeks. They send their best people. I'll stay calm, that's also recognition for us. We will be noticed again in Europe. "
Meanwhile, Jovic is keeping his feet on the ground, telling Serbian media: "I just have to continue as before. I think I'll have a brilliant career ahead of me."
