The team news for the final Group A game between Uruguay and Russia has just been announced.
The match kicks off at 3pm at the Samara Arena in Russia.
Whoever comes out top with finish the group at the top of the table. Russia have been in sparkling goal-scoring form, whereas Uruguay have produced solid back-to-back 1-0 wins and leaving the other two teams, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, in their wake
Oscar Tabarez has selected Sebastian Coates, formerly of Liverpool, and Diego Laxalt in the starting line-up. Tabarez has changed the formation slightly, playing a back-line of three, for a 3-5-2.
Carlos Sanchez is replaced in the starting line-up by Nahitan Nandez who is operating on the right. Vecino, Torreira, and Bentacur are in a solid three midfield.
Diego Godin once again captains the side but is without his fellow Atletico Madrid teammate Jose Gimenez in the heart of defence. Gimenez scored Uruguay’s opening World Cup goal in the win over Egypt but is ruled out of this final game against Russia with a thigh injury.
For the host nation, Fedor Kydryashov comes in for the injured Yuri Zhirkov. Aleksey Miranchuk replaces Aleksandr Golovkin.
