Manchester United Class Of 92 Look Away Now! Simply Stunning Strike Helps Cause Salford Sorrow

If you thought Saturday’s fixtures began at 3pm, well, think again my friend.

You’ll be hard-pressed to see better footballing action today than in the lunchtime non-league fixture between Barrow and high-flying Salford City, an absolutely scintillating game that kept entertaining until the death, and ultimately provided heartbreak for one of the sides.

Mid-table Barrow – at home at Holker Street – left the visitors aghast in a topsy-turvy game thanks to a last-gasp Jacob Blyth goal that secured all three points.

Salford were 1-0 down and reduced to ten men after just 35 minutes after Gus Mafuta’s dismissal, but kept dragging themselves back into the game, pulling it back to 1-1, thanks to Matthew Green, then Ibou Touray made it 2-2 two minutes after Kenny Agustien pulled the hosts ahead once again with less than ten minutes to go.

Though it was ultimately up to Blyth to pinch the praise and revel in the glory, it was Agustien's unmissable wonder-strike - available to watch below - that was far and away the highlight of the exhilarating game.

Blyth had in fact provided the opener from the spot at the quarter-hour mark but will no doubt will be watching his world-class winner on replay well into the New Year, as you are allowed to do via the video below.

The strike severely dents the Ammies# title aspirations, with Leyton Orient and Wrexham both gathering speed to lead the National League pack.

Salford City F.C - backed by Valencia owner Peter Lim and the Manchester United ‘Class of ‘92’ consortium of Gary and Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, and Nicky Butt - are attempting to secure back-to-back promotions after moving up from the National League North last year.

You can watch the video of Barrow’s Agustien helping to bag the points in smashing fashion below.
