Manchester United are again being linked with a £75million move for Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld.
Earlier this year it was reported that contract talks between Spurs and the defender had stalled and with Jose Mourinho keen on bringing him to Old Trafford.
The Belgian was the Spurs 2015/16 Player of the Year and he is not short of admirers having frequently been talked about as one of the best centre backs in Europe which is a position Manchester United are looking to strengthen.
Spurs are understood not to be willing to go above £110,000 a week and with Kyle Walker proving a success at Manchester City following a big money move, Alderweireld is looking for a better deal.
£75million may seem an outlandish fee for the defender but some newspapers this morning suggest talks between the player and United have already started.
As a possible replacement, Spurs are looking at West Brom's Ahmed Hegazi who is looking for a move following the club's relegation from the Premier League.
Manchester United have also been mentioned as a possible destination for the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred as well as Chelsea's Brazillian midfielder Willian who has of course worked with Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
Across the city, Premier League Champions Manchester City are believed to be close to wrapping up a deal for Leicester's Riyad Mahrez, a player they tried to sign during the January transfer window. City can expect to pay around £50million for the player though a cash plus player deal is being talked about in some of this morning's papers.
