Manchester United Fans LOVE What Romelu Lukaku Did After Marcus Rashford’s Penalty

Manchester United are still in dreamland after one of the most memorable European nights in their long and distinguished history. The Red Devils slid their way into the last eight of the Champions League in the most dramatic of circumstances, with a last-minute Marcus Rashford penalty given them that all-important third away goal.

Romelu Lukaku has also won back the United fans after his brace in the French capital dragged United back into the game, giving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side a real chance of qualification. However, it is perhaps what he did after Rashford’s penalty that has made him a cult hero for United, rather than his brace on the night.

After an agonising wait as the referee decided whether or not he should give the penalty after the lengthy VAR review, Rashford converted with aplomb. As the other players raced off to celebrate in front of the United fans with the England forward Lukaku span round to celebrate in front of former United player, Angel Di Maria, before quickly running off to join his teammates.

Di Maria, of course, had played a huge part in the first leg with two assists given PSG a huge lead heading into the second leg. He gave the abuse back to the United fans and also pretending to drink a beer that was thrown at him at Old Trafford, just generally riling up the home crowd.

He also thought he had scored a goal to put his side through in the second leg, but the linesman came to United’s rescue. There are probably few players that United fans dislike as much as the Argentine, and you can see Lukaku’s celebration down below.
