Manchester United supporters are on cloud nine after the Red Devils stunned Juventus on their own patch.
Manager Jose Mourinho was in his element in the aftermath of the match, as he gestured over to Juventus fans, while on the pitch Juan Mata scored a stunning free-kick to draw his side level in the 86th minute, before Paul Pogba played a big part in United’s winner a few minutes later as Alex Sandro put the ball into his own net.
United hero Mata was then interviewed by BT Sport after the potentially season-transforming win.
“It’s a very big step,” said Mata who was then suddenly interrupted by teammate Pogba - scroll down for video.
“It’s the star of the show for Juventus and Man Utd!,” beamed Mata before jubilantly slapping the Frenchman on the stomach.
Pogba was then asked if he enjoyed his return to Turin, to which he replied:
“Lovely, we won, that was the most important thing. The fans were very welcoming with me and I really appreciate that, and during the game we played against a big team with very good players but the most important thing was to win the three points.”
The win has significantly boosted United's chances of making it through to the Champions League group stages, as it kept the club one point ahead of third-placed Valencia, while they shredded the gap between themselves and leaders Juventus to just two points.
With three games to go it now looks to be a three-team race for the top-two spots, and is likely to go right down to the wire.
