Mesut Ozil could be on the cusp of leaving Arsenal for a cut-price £25million, if reports are to be believed.

The Arsenal playmaker has not featured for the Gunners since the 1-1 draw against Wolves back in early November, missing the last five games with a back injury, and now The Sun reports that the North London club could well be willing to let the German leave the Emirates.

Ozil, who is on a staggering £350,000-per-week, could even exit as soon as the New Year for just £25m, despite signing a lucrative new contract at the start of this year.

The 30-year-old is priced at 11/2 to remain at Arsenal in the January transfer window, but if reports are true and Unai Emery wants him out to free up his wage bill, then there will be no shortage of clubs scrambling for his signature.

Man Utd lead the way in the betting at 6/1, followed by both Bayern Munich and Inter Milan at 18/1, while Italian giants Juventus can be backed at 25/1 to snap him up.

United have long been linked with Ozil, who played under Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho during his time at Real Madrid.

However, despite rumours of a departure, Ozil continues to show his support for the Arsenal, tweeting this after Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Huddersfield.

'Yesss! Three points and the run continues. Good job Gunners.'

Ozil hit the headlines earlier in the week after he was revealed as one of the Arsenal players caught up in the controversial ‘hippy crack’ storm, where a number of players were alleged to have inhaled nitrous oxide through balloons back in the summer at a London party.

Meanwhile, Ozil's teammate Aaron Ramsey continues to be linked with a move away, with Liverpool priced at 3/1 to lure him to Merseyside, while a move to Man Utd can be found at 8/1.
