A report in a German sport magazine suggests Manchester United will join the race to sign Borussia Dortmund's highly rated American Christian Pulisic.

The £60million-rated midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several months though this is the first time United have been named in the same bracket as Chelsea and Liverpool.

Aged 20, Pulisic is a player who has been on the radar of some of Europe's biggest clubs for about two years and he seems destined to make a big money move this summer.

This week’s edition of SportBild reports Manchester United - as well as Liverpool - are "positioning themselves" to make a play for Pulisic in the next summer transfer window. The magazine says that Chelsea want the player in January but Borussia Dortmund are unlikely to let the player leave mid-season.

Despite earning rave reviews last season, Pulisic has not been a regular starter this season and his contract ends in summer 2020. The Bundesliga club could cash in by allowing him to leave in the next two transfer windows.

The player has stated in the past that he is interested in playing in the Premier League and there is a belief that American owned Liverpool and United would see him as a very marketable asset.

Borussia Dortmund have enjoyed a great start to the season and are currently top of Bundesliga with 30 points - four clear of Borussia Monchengladbach.  Because of their success, Pulisic has struggled to break into a winning team.
