Manchester United are in the hunt to strengthen their midfield yet again, just days after adding Fred to their ranks for £52m. The Red Devils have made a bid of £35m for Benfica star midfielder Anderson Talisca who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Besiktas.

Jose Mourinho's men do face competition for his signature however as two Chinese Super League clubs are also chasing the 24-year-old and have tabled bids equalling Manchester United’s offer as well as offering their draft contracts for him to sign.

The midfielder, who has hit 37 goals in 78 games for the Turkish club, has an £18.4m option to buy Talisca but it is thought that he sees his future away from Turkish football. The player’s representatives have just got back from China after considering their offers and are now back in Lisbon hoping to conclude a deal on their client’s future within the coming weeks.

You would think that Old Trafford and Premier League football would be his first choice destination however the unnamed Chinese clubs have almost certainly offered him higher wages which could swing the deal in their favour. The attacking midfielder is a creative force with an eye for goal and he hit four goals in eight Champions League titles this season, proving to potential suitors that he can compete at the top level.

United seem keen to add more Brazilian flair to their midfield and Talisca could provide that added spark. If a deal can be done for £35m, that would take United's summer spending to around £100m as they attempt to close the gap on Manchester City.
