Manchester United Ready To Make £80m Transfer Bid? Ed Woodward Identifies Two Major Targets
Ed Woodward has reportedly identified two defenders who he is interested in bringing to Manchester United.
Sky Sports (via The Independent) are reporting that Milan Skriniar and Kalidou Koulibaly are the two names on the list in terms of long term defensive targets for the Premier League club.
United have been struggling for top class defenders for some time now but it could be that their wait for a world class defender is close to being over if this story turns out to be true.
The Old Trafford club are in a positive moment following the sacking of Jose Mourinho and whoever turns out to be the long term successor to the Portuguese gaffer will be hoping they have a new man in the Man United squad to build the defence around.
Koulibaly has been linked with a host of clubs over the past year following a fantastic spell with Napoli and it would be no surprise if he did finally move to the Premier League in the summer.
Skriniar is another Serie A player who has impressed recently and with the report suggesting that he is reluctant to sign a new deal with Inter, he too could become available for the right price.
A host of defenders have arrived to much fanfare at Old Trafford over the past few years but so far they have failed to find the man needed to take the club back towards the top of the Premier League but the United faithful will be hopeful that one of these two players can finally put that right.
