''Marco Silva Is Worse Than Big Sam'' - Seething Everton Fans React To Drab Defeat To Leicester City

Everton suffered their third defeat in four Premier League matches, as the Toffees lost 1-0 to Leicester City at Goodison Park on New Year's Day, and the fans were quick to aim their disapproval at manager Marco Silva.

A solitary second half goal from Jamie Vardy was the difference between the sides as Everton's poor run of form continued, and while it was a Michael Keane mistake that gifted Vardy his winning goal, it was the manager Silva that was criticised in the aftermath of the game.

A 6-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on December 23 ignited the negativeness around Goodison, but a 5-1 drubbing of Burnley on Boxing Day gave Silva some respite, even if it was only for a short time.  A 1-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion three days later and now this 1-0 loss to Leicester has left many questioning Silva's abilities at the helm of the Merseyside club and it was no surprise to see him slashed in the betting to be the next manager to be sacked in the Premier League.

Everton fans took to social media in the aftermath of the Toffees defeat and Mr Silva will certainly not want to be reading most of the comments made about his managerial ability.

It's rare that the fans send such a message. It needs to be listened to. Silva is already losing sections of the fans. He can't afford that even this early. [BlueDanEFC]

Everton really don't look like they have a plan under Marco Silva. No shape or pattern to their play at all. [DarrenThomas5]

Marco Silva started well at Hull, then his team faded, started well at Watford then his team faded, started well at Everton..... Overrated manager- Big Sam was the man. #EVELEI [PaulAle71005754]
