West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini should be focusing his attentions on try to devise a game plan to defeat Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, but the veteran manager is likely to spend some of his week trying to persuade Marko Arnautovic that the Hammers should be his employer for the foreseeable future.
The Austrian international has been the Hammers star man this season, netting five goals in 11 appearances, but he has reportedly been linked with a move away from the London Stadium with Manchester United and Chelsea looking to add the 29-year-old to their respective squads.
A £20m signing from Stoke City in 2017, Arnautovic has blossomed for the Hammers since his arrival from the Potters, but was linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer and Jose Mourinho's Red Devils are still in pole position to snap up the experienced attacker, but rumours are beginning to circulate that Maurizio Sarri could throw his hat into the ring and he is looking to bolster his Chelsea squad.
When asked about his position amidst the transfer rumours earlier this month, Arnautovic told Sky Sports, "I don't want to talk about," which had many Hammers' fans wondering whether the man dubbed 'Arnie' was ready to terminate his contract and head to one of the Premier League's top-six.
However, Arnautovic, who came on as a second half substitute in Austria's 2-1 UEFA Nations League win over Northern Ireland on Sunday, has taken to Instagram to show that his thoughts are solely with West Ham and that he is ready for Saturday's monster clash with City at the London Stadium.
On his Instagram story Arnautovic merely tagged @westham and said "BackToBuisness". While his spelling may not get past dictionary corner on Countdown, the message exploded across social media with West Ham fans rejoicing at his comment and it left most Hammers fans believing that Arnautovic is ready to fight for the West Ham cause and a move to United or Chelsea is unlikely in January.
