Reports from South America today suggest a colossal transfer merry-go-round which could have huge implications for several of Europe's top clubs this summer.
Central to the deal is Manchester United's World Cup-winning midfielder Paul Pogba who is desperately wanted by his former club Juventus.
Pogba has hinted recently that he would be interested in a return to Turin and his relationship with United boss Jose Mourinho has been the subject of much debate in the past few months.
To accommodate Pogba, Juventus are willing to let Paulo Dybala join Bayern Munich. In return, Juventus would get James Rodriguez - a swap deal of epic proportions.
Juventus stunned the world of football in the summer by tempting Cristiano Ronaldo to join them from Real Madrid just a few days after he guided them to yet another Champions League success. They are intent on establishing themselves as one of the mega clubs of European football and were hugely impressive in their recent win over Manchester United at Old Trafford. To land the likes of Rodriguez and Pogba would be another thumping statement of intent.
The report from South America says Juventus are open to the swap deal with Bayern if it means they can generate the funds needed to lure Pogba back to Serie A.
No such move would happen until next summer because Juventus want to retain Dybala to boost their push for honours on all fronts.
United would be looking at a huge fee for Pogba who re-joined the club two years ago. In an interview this week, Pogba revealed he still regarded Turin as home.
