Things are starting to look up once again for Arsenal under the tenure of new manager Unai Emery.
Six consecutive wins has got the Gunners faithful signing again, with the team operating with a great deal of cohesion and attractive football.
This hasn’t, however, halted transfer speculation linking one key player away from the club.
With Aaron Ramsey’s contract expiring at the end of the season, The Mirror is adamant that the Welshman will leave next summer, and there’s an interesting name in the frame to procure his signature.
According to the Ladbrokes betting odds, it is Serie A side AC Milan who are frontrunners to sign the 27-year-old, who has been at Arsenal for over a decade and is their long-serving player.
With odds for him to join the Rossoneri currently at around 2/1, this places the Milan ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Chelsea (7/2) and Liverpool (5/1) to gain Ramsey's services.
Everton and Manchester United are also outside bets at 6/1 and 8/1, respectively.
Ramsey has made 338 appearances for Arsenal, contributing an equal amount of goals and assists (59) during that time.
However, Mirror Sport claim that no new contract offer has been tabled, and though the club were previously confident about extending his time at the club, the possibilities have become distinctly remote with talks 'breaking down'.
If Ramsey does journey over to Italy, he’ll be wanting to emulate Welsh hero John Charles who regularly competes with Gareth Bale as the country’s greatest-ever export.
Charles achieved three Serie A and two Coppa Italia’s in five years at Juventus in the late ‘50s and early 60s.
Ramsey will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from January 1st.
Milan - under the stewardship of legend Gennaro Gattuso - currently sit just outside the relegation spots in 16th following a tepid start to the new season which has seen the 18-time champions manage a solitary win and pick up a total of five points.
Throwback to his incredible acrobatic volley in the Europa League last campaign.
He won't be short of any takers...
